Steiner Electric, Inc. is the successor of Burckhardt Electric Inc., which was founded in 1933.
Robert Steiner joined Burckhardt in 1952, learned the electrical trade and purchased the business in 1962. He changed the name to Steiner Electric, Inc., giving the company his name – a name that reflects integrity, honesty and personal values.
In the years that followed, Bob’s father, Elroy, and brother, Ron, worked their electrical craft along with other qualified electricians. With Bob at the helm, they expanded the company from residential electrical contracting to include commercial and industrial electrical contracting.
In the early 1970’s, Bob’s oldest son, Rick, joined the company. Rick graduated from the electrical apprentice program and became a licensed journeyman in 1978. He later attained master electrician and electrical designer licenses. As time went on, Steiner Electric continued to grow and is very proud of its many construction accomplishments. Soon it was time for a new generation to take over.
In 1984, Rick and his wife Gayle became business partners with Bob. A photo of 1984 company sale signing day is shown to right.
In 1995, Rick and Gayle bought Bob’s portion of the business and continued to manage the company with the same values and integrity their customers and community had come to expect.
Shown here are four generations of the Steiner family. All pictured have served in leadership roles at Steiner Electric in the past or present. Elroy, shown in the lower right, began his career as an electrician in 1929, later moving to Burckhardt Electric in 1933 at its founding. Elroy’s son, Bob, started work as an electrician in 1956 upon the completion of his electrician apprentice program. Following in his footsteps, his son, Rick, started working on his apprenticeship in 1974.
In 2000, Rick and Gayle’s son, Robb, joined their company. Robb grew up immersed in family values, strong work ethic and community involvement. Robb graduated from the ABC apprenticeship program and holds a master electrician and designer’s license, along with a NABCEP certification (solar electric).
In 2020, Robb and his wife, Chrissy, completed the purchase of Steiner Electric. Robb is the President of the company and works along side his brother-in-law and Vice President, Andrew Kaehny.
Today, more than eight decades after its founding, we at Steiner Electric honor the memories of Elroy and Bob by continuing the tradition of family values and integrity. We work hard to Deliver Power with Pride to our valued customers.
